About Us

By Bruja originated in a small crib in the South Bronx. Growing up in a Spanish decent household, spirituality was something my mom taught us early. As time grew on, I was always referred to as the "Bruja" of the family, so once I started displaying my art publicly, I knew that By Bruja was something close to me that would represent me perfectly to everyone else. By Bruja is bigger than me, bigger than this, and bigger than where it came from. By Bruja represents me in all my forms, good, bad, sad; It represents all the parts of all of us. Even the ones we feel uncomfortable speaking about. Growing up in poverty, gang violence, being homeless, dropping out, being poor, depression. This is how I want to represent The Bronx. Coming from nothing and making it into something. My art isn't for everyone, but if you're here, its for you. Thankyou.
